Walking In The Cold

When I got off work this morning, I wanted to go for a walk. I waited for a little while, and took off. Not that long of a walk, just 2.82 miles. I didn’t feel like walking any farther. I will hopefully start walking more. If not everyday, at least three times a week.

On my walk, I walked by two small ponds. Both had a fountain in them. This was the first one.

You can see ducks on the one above, but the other pond I waled by had a lot more ducks.  I took a video of the ducks walking on the ice.

It was cold, but a nice walk.  Thanks for visiting.

Geocaching with EM!

Today, was a perfect day for geocaching.  It was almost 70, and sunny.  I had planned to grab some geocaches, after eating lunch with my parents and sister.

When I was almost done eating, I got a text from Extreme Mom.  She asked if I was doing anything, and if I wanted to go geocaching with her.  I said yes, of course.  We had planned on doing a back road series.

Geocaches we had "planned" to find.

It was such a nice day, EM just wanted to get out.  She originally wanted to find some of the caches above.  Instead, we drove to Sperry, OK, and found some of them around there.

It was a fun day driving the backroads of Oklahoma.  We found some of the caches that I probably wouldn’t have looked for by myself.  One was on a stop sign.  Another was in a front yard.  I don’t mind finding a cache in a front yard, as long as I know the people who’s yard it is in.  A couple at volunteer fire departments.

We finished the day as the sun was going down.  I found 11 caches, not a lot, but fun.  Below is the last picture, at the last cache of the day.

The sun didn’t show up very good.  If you’re wondering about the mustaches, we bought them at a store while looking for swag.  Funny story in the picture above.  EM had the idea to turn them upside down for the last picture.  What was funny, EM had her mustache upside down the whole day, until this picture!  The bad thing is, I didn’t notice it either.

I’ll leave you with some other pictures I took during our adventure today…

Walking Around Downtown Tulsa.

I went to a soccer game tonight, Tulsa Revolution vs Wichita B-52’s.  It was a good exciting game, even though Tulsa lost by one point.

That isn’t the main subject of this post though.  I thought I’d get to the game a little early and take a walk.  The place Tulsa plays is downtown, so I thought walk around looking at the buildings.  Tulsa has beautiful buildings.  I took some pictures with my phone, but I’d like to take my big camera and take some.

Below are the pictures I took.

I love these old signs.

I can't remember what this is. I thought it was cool though. I guess I need to find out what these buildings are.

I thought this was cool to. And again, I don't know what this building is. It looked like it might be apartments.

I’ll plan on making another trip downtown for more pictures.  I will definitely be taking my big camera.  I hope you enjoyed my pictures, thanks for visiting!

Replacing a Geocache

Last week, a friend and I went to Turkey Mountain to watch the sunrise, I blogged about it here.  She also found a few geocaches.  One was mine.  It was a dinosaur hidden in a little “cave”.  Some critter had chewed it’s head off, and almost got his tail off too.  So today, I decided to walk out there and replace it.

Me with the new dinosaur.

It was a nice walk in the woods.  It was a nice day to be out there.  Below is a video I made while replacing it.

I hope you enjoyed my post today.  Thanks for visiting!

Sunrise

A friend from Washington came back to town for one of her friends funeral.  I went to high school with her, I hadn’t seen her in a long time.  Last weekend, we were supposed to meet at Turkey Mountain to do some hiking.  Something came up, and she couldn’t meet me.

She wanted to watch the sunrise, and I knew the perfect place to watch it.  On Turkey Mountain!  So we met at the parking lot at 6:30.  I had never been there while it was dark, so it was a new experience for me.  We were the only people in the parking lot.  I thought there would be at least a couple of other people there.

Anyway, we made it to what I thought was the perfect place, and it was!  It was an awesome place to watch it.  Below is the video I took while out there.

It was awesome.  This will definitely not be the last time I go out before the sun comes up.

Oh, and she has also been wanting to find some geocaches, so we found some.  The picture below is one she found, that I have hidden.  I guess some of the local critters didn’t like the dinosaur looking at them.  They bit the head off.  I’ll have to take another one out there one of these days.

3D Printing

As you can see, I didn’t get out to replace my cache as I said I would on my last post.  I still plan on doing it, just don’t know when.

I thought I’d share this.  I listen to a lot of podcast’s at work, it makes the night go by faster.  One of them I listen to, is the GeoGearHeads.  On one of their podcast’s, they were talking about 3-D printers, and how you can make caching containers from a 3-D printer.  You can find it here, GGH 099: 3D Printed Caches I.  Anyway, I really didn’t get the way they made them.  This morning, as I was looking on facebook, a friend shared a video about how 3-D printing is done.  You can watch the video here, Amazing 3D Printer!  I thought it was a pretty cool video, and now I can see how you could make a cache container.

On the podcast, they said it was pretty expensive to make one, so don’t look for me to buy one to hide it.  I think I’ll stick to the containers I have already hidden.

My Plans

Well, it’s 2014.    2013 went by so fast!  I didn’t make any resolutions for 2013, mainly because I don’t usually keep them.  So, I probably won’t make any this year either.

I would like to post more on here, and also make more videos.  I always have a lot of idea’s for videos, but for one reason or another, I don’t go through with them.

I need to replace a cache that I have, that’s been disabled for way to long.  I went to check on it a couple of weeks ago, but I forgot to take a replacement.  So now, I have one in my car, so the next time I get to it, I can finally replace it.  I plan on going out tomorrow to do it.  The cache is called Curse of the FTF #9 (T-Town).  If I replace it, hopefully I’ll write a post tomorrow.

The only other activity I want to do more of this year, is walking and hiking.  I plan on joining the Tulsa Walking Club again.  They have a lot of good walking events during the year.

That’s all for now.  I’m through rambling.  Thanks for visiting my page.  Next time I won’t ramble as much.
