I Did it…

I finished my geocaching calendar!!!

An old caching friend messaged me last week, Kalli4na, since she was going to be in town for the holidays, she wanted to go caching.  She had gotten married and had triplets, so she hasn’t had the time, or probably energy to find any geocaches.  So today we went out and found some.  She found 35, and I found 19.  Some of the caches she found were ones I had already found.

My calendar filled out, every day of the year!!!

I am so glad to finally get this done.  If you have read my blog for very long, I screwed up last year in October, and missed a day.  Instead of finding caches the rest of the year, I quit trying to find caches on the days I needed to.  So, I had to wait a whole year, until today to find my final one.

Here I am holding the cache I found to finish my calendar!

The one I found was one I had looked for earlier.  I don’t know why I couldn’t find it in previous hunts.  It is called Bone Yard.  I walked right up to it this time.  I think I know why they named it bone yard, this is what we found while looking for it.

Kalli4na also found her 600th find today.

Kalli4na’s 600th find!

We had an awesome day caching.  We found some park and grabs, just because they were there, and we walked at least a couple of miles to some.

I hope you enjoyed my post.  I’ll leave you with some other pictures I took today.

ONE DAY LEFT

I’m down to my last day! I found a geocache that was another easy park and grab, it was A Few Good Men #497. I needed to find another easy one because I have a long day of basketball and soccer to watch.

Tulsa has a high school basketball tournament called The Tournament of Champions. I love watching high school basketball, so I have to come watch it. Since I work nights, weekends are the only time I can watch a game.

Anyway, I think I know which cache I want to go after tomorrow. I’m not going to say which one, in case it doesn’t work out.

Check back tomorrow to see which one I find. Thanks for visiting!

2 More Days!

Today was a day I needed to find a cache. So, I decided to look for one after work. I get off at 3:30 am, so some caches are easier to find, with no muggles around. It was an easy park and grab, in a cedar tree. I usually don’t look for these kind during the day, because I don’t like to draw to much attention to myself. This one would have.

So now, I only have two days left of my calendar. Saturday and Sunday. I think I have an idea on which one I want to find Sunday, but not sure.

I will try to post a blog tomorrow and will definitely post one Sunday after I find my final day. So, check back to see if I finish!  Thanks for visiting.

Video Thursday?

Okay, I like to read blogs, and watch videos on YouTube.  I have a blog list that I keep up with, some daily and some weekly.  I’ll share some of them with you in a future post, just in case you’re interested.

Telling you that, brings me to this post.  I want to mix my blog and YouTube.  I’ll share YouTube videos, not necessarily my videos, but other peoples videos that they share.  Most will be pretty short, but some may be long.  I’ll have to pick a day on which I do it.  This first one will be today.  Thursday, hence the name Video Thursday.

Here’s my first video post.  I want to share this one, because I like Christmas lights, and I also like Star Wars.  It’s lights synced to Star Wars music.

I’m just trying to mix things up.  I’ll still post about my geocaching and other adventures.  I just want to have reasons to post more.  It may not be just on a certain day.  Who knows what will happen.  Let me know what you think.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

I want to wish everyone a MERRY CHRISTMAS!  I hope all of you have a blessed day.  I’ll be spending today with my family.  I’ll leave you today, with a passage from the Bible.  It’s the story of Jesus’ birth.  The reason I celebrate Christmas.

Luke 2:1-21(NIV)

1 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register.

4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

14      “Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger.17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

21 On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise the child, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he was conceived.

Ice at Oxley

I woke up this morning to attend church.  As I drove up, there was no one in the parking lots.  My first thought was, “today is Sunday, isn’t it”.  I called my mother, and she said it was cancelled.  The ice storm had knocked out electricity to the church.

Since there wasn’t church this morning, I decided to go to Oxley Nature Center and take some photos of the ice on the trees.  It was beautiful out there!  I took pictures and a video.  Here’s the video I took.

Here are some of the pictures I took.

Ice Storm Caching

As of today, I only have three days left on my calendar.

Tulsa has a new indoor soccer team, Tulsa Revolution.  I met my dad, and watched the game this afternoon.  Tulsa lost, but it was fun to watch an indoor game again.

It has been raining, and freezing raining, is that the right way to say that.  There was a cache that I looked for a couple of weeks ago, it wasn’t there.  I could see where it had been, so I contacted the cache owner, and he confirmed it was where it was supposed to be.  I actually saw him at the Christmas parade I wrote about here.  He replaced it the next day.

I decided to look for it tonight, after dark.  If you had ever been around a bunch of trees during or after an ice storm, it kind of sounds creepy.  The place looked totally different, not only because it was dark, but because of the tree limbs that fell from the ice.  After climbing over and around tree limbs and walking in the mud, I found and signed the log.  This one was called Rock Creek Stash.  It was a nice cache.

The last day is next Sunday!  I can’t wait to finish it.  Check back next week to see if I finish my calendar.  Thanks for visiting.
