Sunday Afternoon in the Park

This last Sunday, I woke up late again for church.  I have been sleeping in way to much on Sundays.  So, Sunday, I met my mom and sister for lunch.  My dad wasn’t feeling good, so he didn’t come with them.  I had somewhere to be at 4:30, so after we ate, I had to find something to do.  What’s the best way to waste time?  Go geocaching!

There were three caches I needed to find at Mohawk Park.  So I went out there.  I love this park.  I have found a lot there, and hopefully, more people will hide caches there.  I have seven hidden out there to.

After parking, I was within a short walking distance of two of them.  The first one I found was Curse of the FTF – T-Town #12.  It was a regular size.  It was a nice cache.  The second one, was a micro, Tick in a can.  The next one I drove around the park a little way, to get a better parking spot.  It was another short walk to it.  This cache was a small.  It was called JA123’s Baby Shower Cache.

After finding these, I still had time to kill.  I drove closer to downtown Tulsa, to Centennial Park.  This is a nice park, on the outskirts of downtown.  Sometimes as a cacher, you just don’t have luck at a cache site.  I found the cache, Centennial Park – The Waterfall, but the log was so wet, I couldn’t sign it.  I usually carry extra logs with me, so I walked back to the car and got one.  Wouldn’t you know it, when I got back to the cache, some people were there taking pictures.  I knew they were gonna be there a while, so I just walked away.  Oh well, at least I know where it is, and can come back and either replace the log, or sign it if someone else did.

The last one I found was Tulsa Time!  It was downtown, close to the Tulsa PAC.  When I decided to look for it, I thought downtown would be empty.  Well, I forgot about the afternoon Nutcracker show.  There were cars everywhere, but the people were all inside.  I found it.

That was my caching for the day.

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Well, Christmas is almost here.  Guess what, I’m not done shopping!  That’s unusual for me.  Most years, I’m scurrying around on Dec. 24th to find the last presents.  Every year I tell myself I’m going to get all the shopping done earlier, but every year, time just gets the best of me.  With my job, I can’t take off during the Christmas season.  Who else is going to sort all the Christmas cards and packages, I work at the post office.  This is our busiest time of the year!  So, more than likely, I’ll be running around before work everyday this week looking for the perfect gift for the last of the people on my list.

In other news, I did go to Branson again last weekend.  No, I didn’t have time to find any geocaches.  I think this was the first time I’ve visited Branson, and didn’t find one.  The last two or three months, I have been lazy about geocaching.  I haven’t even been to a Tulsa Area Geocachers(TAG) event.  TAG is our local geocaching group.  We have an event every month.  Usually at a local restaurant.  We eat, and talk about caching, and afterwards, some will get together and go out as a group and hunt for caches.  I think the last one I went to was in July.  That’s way to long not to go.  Yesterday was the annual TAG Christmas party.  I even missed it!!

I did go to a Christmas party last night.  It was really fun.  Had good food and good fellowship, and even got a Subway gift card!  After the party, some of us went to Rhema Bible Church for their Christmas lights.  They decorate with a whole bunch of lights.  They have a drive through, and you can walk through.  We did the walk through.  It was awesome.  Not quite as awesome as SDC, but almost.  I think I heard someone say, there were like 3 or 4 million lights.  Although, that was just someone passing by, so I don’t know how accurate, whoever that was.

I guess I will go for now.

Thanksgiving Weekend

Last weekend, I made a short trip to Branson.  Silver Dollar City(SDC) is a must see during Christmas, if you visit Branson.  There are a whole bunch of Christmas lights, and a five story Christmas tree, that lights with music!  It’s awesome.

It wasn’t as busy as I thought it would be at SDC.  Maybe it was because of the rainy weather we had.  It wasn’t to bad though.

Sunday afternoon we went to a concert from a group called Chosen Few.  It was an awesome concert.  We got home late Sunday night.

While on every trip I take, I have to find at least one cache.  We spent the trip up to Branson finding caches.  Also spent Sunday morning searching for them.  I found twelve overall during the weekend.

It was a fun weekend.  So fun, I’m going back this coming  weekend!
